Application: 

Sulfur black is a common dye for black dyeing of cotton, hemp, viscose fibers and their fabrics. The dye uptake and levelness are good. Sulphur black dyes have good dyeing strength and light fastness. It is also used for dyeing leather and paper. 

Sulfur black is insoluble in water and ethanol. It has good solubility in sodium sulfide solution and is green and black. Add sodium hydroxide to sodium sulfide aqueous solution to make the color blue; Add hydrochloric acid until there is green light and black precipitation in sodium sulfide solution; It is partially dissolved in cold concentrated sulfuric acid, heated to dark green light blue, and further heated to black blue; Black blue in 25% fuming sulfuric acid; There is green light and black precipitation after dilution; The dye is yellow olive in alkaline sodium hydrosulfite solution, and can restore its original color after oxidation; It will fade completely in sodium hypochlorite solution, and it will not be affected by adding concentrated sulfuric acid.
